There's nothing wrong with wearing jammies to the park when you're early-birds like us. Most people were pulling into the businesses surrounding the park, and we were swinging and playing in the sand.

Nolan: Six Months

Because I am so incredibly late on this post (even though the date stamp may say otherwise) I am going to let the stat picture do most of the talking for me. Mainly because Nolan is already doing new things and I'm blurring the lines on what was then and what is now. They just grow too fast!

Little man's biggest achievement was FINALLY sleeping through the night. It didn't happen back to back nights at first, but within a week he was doing so. It's a beautiful thing and I am so, so thankful. Now we're all starting to get good sleep and I don't have to go around looking like a zombie all the time.

Happy Valentine's Day!

While my Valentine monsters are snoozing I thought I would take a break to share some Valentine pictures with you all. We had a busy morning filled with a lovely (but looong) bubble bath for Miss Mallory followed up by nail painting and her favorite snack, strawberries. She eats them so much she constantly smells like strawberries. She has become our real life Strawberry Shortcake. After lunch we went for a walk, which now almost always means a bike ride to Mallory. I plop Nolan in the carrier and we walk alongside her; him kicking and wiggling from excitement while I dodge his punches near my face. It's no wonder why I get so many bruises. No exciting plans for this evening other than just being together as a family. I'm on strike from cooking dinner though so we will likely be going out since Jody doesn't proclaim to cook. And if Mallory has her way, the evening will end with some sort of dessert - can't argue with that!

For part of Jody's gift I surprised him with some pictures of myself and the kids. My friend Megan is branching out into photography and she was running a little Valentine special that I decided to take advantage of. Plus it was nice to get to be in the photos this time since I'm usually the one taking the photos. Here are a few on my favorites that she took:

Mallory got some awesome rain boots from Mamaw the other day and she won't take them off. Now she just needs some more puddles to jump in!

We went to auntie Sasha's house last week to play and hang out. She turned the play yard into a ball pit and the kids were loving it!

YAY for SLEEP!

Mark this date down because it's one for the record books - Nolan FINALLY slept through the night! He's still an early riser - just like his sister - but when I've had an actual night's sleep, getting up early feels refreshing. I'm usually a morning-person anyway so it's kind of nice to get a glimpse at a normal sleep schedule again. Now let's see how many days in a row this awesomeness can happen!

Super Bowl Par-tay!

We had a small gathering of family and friends over this afternoon for the Big Game. Each person brought over a food dish to share. I made some really yummy Molasses Meatballs thanks to a recipe I found through Pinterest. And even though the game wasn't all that great (because where was Denver?), we all still had a great time getting together. Lots of toys to clean up still but at least the kitchen is already picked up; I'll get to the rest tomorrow. This tired momma is ready for bed now.

Hope everyone had a great time celebrating! And no matter who you were rooting for, you can't argue the fact that Seattle did a good job dominating Denver. Hey, may the best man (or team in this case) win. For this season anyway - until next year football fans!
