Pool Party at the Peterson's

This past Saturday we went to a pool party at the Peterson's to celebrate Brynn's second birthday. Mallory was in heaven with the amount of swimming she got to partake in; going back and forth between the pool and the hot tub for hours. Let's just say that though we didn't intend to be, we were the last ones to leave - mainly because we weren't looking forward to prying monster out of the water knowing it would come with some backlash. We all thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of Brynn's birthday party - especially the beautiful and delicious cake that Jackie made from scratch!

Difference of Opinion

Mallory and I have a difference of opinion when it comes to the refrigerator. I like it clean and free of any type of debris - no magnets, no papers, no reminder notes, nothing. I feel like I've already made huge strides by allowing one side of the fridge that you rarely see hold some of those items that you see on most people's refrigerator, but even that I limit to imperative information.

Mallory, on the other hand, looks at my clean refrigerator as a blank slate. Right now I'm okay with the multicolored letter/number magnets being thrown all over the front of my bare refrigerator though because I love to see her try and spell words. She's not even close to spelling anything that makes sense, but if you ask her she'll give you a whole explanation of what's on that fridge.

She's in for a rude awakening though when she wants to start hanging things that she makes or gets at school on my fridge - it just aint happening. That's where the DIY project that I have in mind will come in handy. Now let's see if I can complete that project before she comes running to me one day saying, "Mommy, can we hang this up on the fridge?"

First Trim

Last weekend, we went over to Cory & Sasha's house for a little belated Fourth of July BBQ and pool party (pictures to come). Sasha's sister Hannah, who is a hairstylist, was there and Mallory was in desperate need of getting her bangs cut so I asked her if she would give Mallory her first trim. It wasn't much hair that was cut off but boy did it make a difference. Now she no longer has wispy strands hanging down in her eyes.

Fourth of July

We didn't make any plans for our Fourth of July - day off of work - seeing as it landed in the middle of the week, but it ended up being a fun-filled afternoon spent with the Meloni family. Love impromptu get-togethers. Hope you all had a lovely Fourth of July!
